Supply security, limited transmission capacity, dwindling production capacity surplus, environmental concerns coupled with EU Emission Trading, soaring prices of energy sources and high growth in energy demand have been the main drivers of increasingly volatile long-term wholesale electricity prices. These reflect in the investments in new capacities, shedding a new light especially on use of renewable energy sources. The renewable energy potential in the Balkan Region is great yet underexploited. The knowledge and experience in renewable energy is crucial for achieving independence and growth of national economies as well as for research and technological development of the European industry. CERI was founded in 1975. Members of the Institute today comprise Canadian government departments at both Federal and Provincial levels, the University of Calgary, and about 100 energy-related companies that belong to the Private Sector Sponsors of CERI. There are many membership benefits to those choosing to become a sponsor of CERI.
A central goal of CERI is to build bridges between scholarship and policy, bringing the insights of scientific research, economic analysis, and practical experience to the attention of government policy-makers, business sector decision-makers, the media, and citizens in Canada and abroad. CERI Staff is assisted in these endeavours by independent research forums comprised of recognized experts in the fields of oil, gas, coal, electricity and alternate fuels. Complementing the research on domestic and continental energy and environmental issues is an expanding international research program.
Multi-Client studies involve the active participation of advisory committees that provide expert advice. Individuals on the committees are not identified in CERI research publications, allowing expert input and opinion without compromising the objectivity of participants. The interpretation and findings set forth in CERI publications are those of the institute and its authors, who maintain sole responsibility for the content.

CEATI Utility Training Solutions

The electric utility industry is rapidly evolving and keeping our engineers and professionals up-to-date on new technologies and practices can be challenging.
